My Friend Lost $400K in 2009

One of my friend told me he Lost $400K in 2009 by using leverage to trade currencies during last Sept. Oct.. He lost all of his savings and his girl friend left him last month... He was laid off during recession, then started to trade, he first made good profits, then used leverage and did not cut loss fast. So for your safety, don't use too much leverage and margin, otherwise, your life will be destroyed. I was deeply shocked and felt sorry for him when he told me this.

That is pain,
Especially the house.


2000 is really crazy, it was the biggest bull market ever.

But the crash  from 2000 is not as fast as 2008-09.

At that time, I don't know anything about TA, FA, etc.
I was young and dump, (still is today)
Just follow everyone to buy, never know how to take profit.
One of the stock I still remember today is CRA. My Ex-wife was working for them, I have 5000 share buy at $20, it went up to $270. I sold just enough to buy her a car once, that's it. Then Bill-Clinton pass a law says"DNA mapping" is public health information, then the stock drop crazy, guess what I did not sell, but I bough more under margin...

That's tough experience.   With high leverage, risk management is key to survive before making a penny.
