Day after day down till Aug 2 closing bell. After midnight Aug 2, there is still no deal on debt ceiling talks, so ES drops >100 points after midnight Aug 2. Bears all become pandas and bulls all become buffalos. However, the next day before cash market opens, superman 08 uses his "Yes, we can!" power and raises debt ceiling, thus stock market opens gap up >2%, instead, and closes >5% up.

a small flaw in the story: overnight ES won't drop more than 60 points as circuit breaker will be triggered o/w.

COUNTDOWN DAYS.

So far, SPX dropped four days in a row while DJIA dropped five days in a row. Three more days to go till midnight Aug 2. I guess it will keep sliding day after day towards the deadline.--Maybe sliding at tortoise pace from now on. It is very likely that we see a long needle on daily chart every day.
