In the premarket... Stock futures are trading above fair values this morning, indicating a higher open. The Labor Department said initial jobless claims fell more than expected last week to a seasonally-adjusted 409,000, the lowest level in four weeks. Semiconductor stocks could be under pressure today after Goldman Sachs downgraded its view of the semiconductor equipment sector to cautious from neutral, citing potential excess supplies. Later this morning investors will receive reports on existing home sales and leading indicators. Dollar Tree (DLTR) is up 1.57 to 62.90 after being upgraded. Con Way (CNW) is up 0.92 to 38.50 following an upgrade. Intel (INTC) is down 0.52 to 23.36 after being downgraded at Goldman. Sears (SHLD) is down 0.16 to 75.69 after reporting disappointing earnings. |
