yeah, I also have the noise problem with my home made PC.

    I added an extra fan in the case, that is why mine was making noise.  Now, laptop is so cheap, didn't even bother to make a desktop myself le. My old one desktop lasted 6 years until too slow and harddrive died.

我觉得intc cpu提供的stock fan质量太差
这是关键问题

actually I think you won't get that much noise if you use CPU fan from Intel. I use CPU fan from Asus, which I think is the root cause.

FAN一定要贵，50刀以上的，噪音勘比品牌机，
就是价钱也和二手品牌机差不太多了。。。。。

actually I think you won't get that much noise if you use CPU fan from Intel. I use CPU fan from ...

I think it's either from custom CPU fan or PC case fan.

    嗯，cpu fan 都有scale setup,windows开机后会接手控制转速和噪音，但是linux就做得不好。
机箱fan理论上应该也可以控制了，但是我的还不行。。。

no, my case is Coolmax(yes, not typo) which has its own fan of course.
I don't use Intel stock CPU fan, I use Asus CPU fan.

俺有一个台imac, 觉的挺好，安静，色彩好，同一桌上的DELL显示器一比就没法看
变成当个人服务器，放个网站没问题，加个vmware fushion，啥window的软件也没问题
