If it opens now, it will do some good even a little too late. If it is open 10 years later, it is too late and useless. The entire culture has changed. Now, in Shanghai, single-child couple can give birth to 2 children, but most of them do not take advantage of it.

In Europe, Isreal and Japan, the governments are encouraging people have more children, it just does not happen any more.

We are in a global world. Your US or Canada or Australia -born children are probably not that interested in Chinese culture and can not adjust to a life in China if they are grown up in their birth country. Read in the paper, Indian American have difficulty adjusting back to Indian life after they moved back from the US.

Of course, a strong China makes us (all people with Chinese heritage) feel proud. But is it that important for the future China to be the super power of the world? As long as we have peace, and people everywhere live in harmony, we shall be happy. reminds me of Beatle's song "Imaging..."

刚才正好在想印度人口多，增长快。人口后备力量非常充足。

印度的粮食不够吃时，会不会打东南亚其他国家（缅甸 泰国 老挝 越南…）和中国解决粮食问题。
吃饱的富人不愿打仗，但吃不饱的穷人打仗就有钱能吃饱，他一定会狠狠的打仗呀。

就大多数中国人的生活环境和状态，婚姻的感情道德（不稳定的感情因素和家庭因素和物质保障让女人对生孩子问题越来越理性）。

按生育率， 也可能是穆斯林国家的。穆斯林的信仰是孩子越多越好。

这位JJ/MM，你回去看一看中国各大城市那黑压压的人群，不谈爱国不爱国，问问你自己愿不愿意让你的孩子（不管有几个）在中国长大。

现在不是殖民扩张的时代，要想让生活在中国这片土地上的人享有更高的生活质量，现在减少生育是必须的。
