Both my gf and I are made >200% return so far this month.  So, we decided to stay off this market until after Brexit's ripple effect is over first before we do trading again.

I'd like to take a spare moment to share with you guys (those who trade options) about my logic of how to make consistent and high returns.  I shared this logic with my gf last night and now, I share it with you guys.

My gf has been doing trading (pretty much daytrading) in and out for over 40-times during last 3-week and her return (after comissions + premium) is close to 50%.  However, she couldn't stand it anymore because it was too much emotional for her to go all in and out.  Late last week until now, she followed me which she made only 3-trade and her return was >150%, hence she decides to follow my trading method from now on to catch only big fishes.

Anyway, I'm not trying to show off or anything here.  All I'm trying to show is my logic which I'm sure most of you (those who trade options for years) would agree with me.  

Have a look at the options return table (which I borrowed from Guy Cohen's book).  If you've $10k to go all in and out by using your reliable signals, your average monthly return is ~22%, you'd make ~$166k in 1st year, over $1 million in 2nd year and over $20 million by 3rd year.   Please notes such returns don't include commisions + premiums.

So, here is my logic which I explained to her last night.  During my last 10-year of trading, I've NEVER seen anyone who is able to make money in EVERY SCENARIO (i.e. in every direction all day long.)   What you can do is to have a set of very reliable setups where you can bet on when your signals triggered. Other than that, don't touch the market because getting greedy is what going to ruin your trades one way or another.  Therefore, you must be patient and discipline to follow your signals to trade.

That said, I'm going to trade less and less because all I'm very good at right now is to catch big fishes where I use different set of reliable signals to confirm in order to ensure the odds are with me, not against me.  Doing so, it allows me to trade very big and in confident way where my goal is to achieve at least 100% return on monthly basis.

thank you for sharing your thoughts, yes I think trading less is better way to go. It will allow you to be more picky and focus on higher winning rate trades. But it is harder for the itchy hand. So I think once a while do a small trade just to test out your confidence.

I am staying out before Brexit to see what's going to happen. And trying to go back looking at some other people's trading ideas and testing out some of the method.

BTW, I do not do those exotic option trade method, cause I am not that sophisticate enough. But instead of buying the pair of option, I think selling the pair might be better. You staying total neutral and just try to earn the risk premium. Cause both the calls/puts are very expensive now due to the brexit and they will decay fast.
Just a thought for discussion.

Once your financial status become stable, you will become less and less greedy and focusing more on safety first.  Then, you will find your fingers getting less and less itchy.  Otherwise, find a woman to cure your fingers as one of considerable solutions
