Market is in range. But whole VIX family are up (VIX, TVIX, UVXY). Meanwhile XIV down.
In a range market, supposed they all should down.

Actually RUT has a longer white bar this morning.

vix up is due to FOMC meeting. Buy XIV if you expect market to be flat or up after the event.

If VIX down today, sure, market has a higher chance to go higher.

But if VIX up, then
1. market will go up, but VX as hedge.
2. market could go down. i.e. topped here.
