do not agree. In China, people pay cash to buy house in most places(except several big cities now).
In US, we need work 30 years to pay mortgage.

I do not see how US home income/mortgage is ...

many american think 6% 7% is low.  I remember that the rate was 8%+ in 1996~7.

bay area house price is at least up 2x, some areas are still 3x-4x. Same to south CA.

你们太小看美国人的收入了，就算mortgage涨到7%，美国家庭收入对每月贷款的比例还是世界上最高的。

利率涨上去的关键坏处是前几年搞ARM的那批家伙们逃不了了，这样就又会造成一大笔新的foreclosure，把房价砸下去 ...

一个很有趣的现象，到相对便宜的社区看看，车库里都是好车，像宝马，奔驰等等，也看到不少保时捷。
所以，老美有钱一定花完的。房子上省出来的钱，花在别的地方了，收入高，多余的钱不是用来支撑房市的。

I know a little bit about the house market in San Diego and Riverside county in California. From what I see, in these two areas the house price has already bottomed.

Some research institutions already start saying San Diego house is under-valued. I think it is BS. But seems people are buying. Seems bottomed.

Do not know the bay area though.

一个很有趣的现象，到相对便宜的社区看看，车库里都是好车，想宝马，奔驰，也看到不少保时捷。
