Under market profile, we should deflect off the high volume node around 1189 and move all the way back down to retest the low at least. However, given that TOS volume is really screwed, I can't be sure if the market profile chart is even right

i am using DTN as my historical data back fill so it should be accurate. my composite MP chart uses tick data all the way back to 5/19/08 the last major high/low.

I just started to learn MP. I am glad to know you also use MP. How long have you used MP?

at this moment the O/N high is 1190.50, O/N low is 1177 and the last price is 1189.75. it attempted to go higher from 1177.75 and so far it did ok but may deflect from there and go back down, who knows.

I have known about market profile for a couple of years but I haven't really applied it much. Looks like you are pretty serious about market profile with a professional set-up. I am mostly relying on TOS' for data and chart but everytime TOS does an update, it messes the chart and this time the feed as well.

My understanding is that you shouldn't construct market profile using data going too far back. Normally a 5 to 10 day composite market profile should do for swing trading to give you key reference points and then use profile for daily charts to identify trading opportunity.

The market profile guru appears to use CQG or Market Delta for active trading.
