Pat pat, I think you only saw what you really wanted to see, not what you should see here. This kind of thing always happens when you visit a forum or read newsletter. The others opinion do affect your tradings. My trading is also affected by others too, for example, today I was greatly affected by some of comments here as well as my firend. Guess, you need a plan to strictly follow no matter what the others say.

Sorry to know your losses.  Here is my 2 cents (my hard learned lessons).

1. There are three very very common mistakes that newcomers to the stock market make: (i) trading based on high hands' predictions; (ii) trading against the trend; and (iii) averaging down instead of cutting loss early.

2. It is usually necessary to lose $ (aka tuition payment) before one might ("might", not "can") make $ in the market.

3. Only following others' predictions or calls are not likely to enable you make $ consistently.

4. Trading execution is always more important than predictions.

其实不输掉裤子的原则也很简单：每次做决定前，问下自己，如果自己错了会如何？有没有补救，包括盘中的和既定的。盘中的就是止损，既定的就是Hadge。没有这些，就先用假币做做沙盘推演，不赚永远比亏损好！

First find a good paper trading platform, such as Think Or Swim and MB Trading. Don't use real money if you can't make paper money.
Second follow Cobra's Water Post everyday to get a good feel of the broad market ... you should learn how to read the market, i.e. patterns etc, from him and other high hands ...
Third, formulate your own trading plan along the way ... how to go in, how to get out, how to cut loss ...
Fourth, only trade ETFs that are highly correlated with the broad market that is discussed intensively by Cobra so you can borrow his brain ...
Finally don't fight the FED!!! The mid to long-time (1 to 6 months) trend is up. Try to swing along with this trend unless you are super duper good!

I bet you will succeed after one year! Good luck!
