next week: SPX should cross down; Dow Jones may also cross down or one week later.

Weekly MACD crossing down of all major indexes below their 200-week moving average, should be considered a mid-term bearish sign and the start of a mid-term down trend that may last about 5 months.

this is because Dow is underperformed other indexes, and try to do some catch up in last hour.  Current 2009 peak for each index relative to its March low is:
Dow: up 56.4%;
SPX: up 65%;
Nasdaq: 73.1%;
Russell 2000: 82.5%;

The one with highest return crosses down the first.

Between August and December 2003, weekly MACD whipsawed while market kept going up. This time it may well turnout to be true.  Weekly MACD alone is not a very reliable indicator for US market.
