fundamentals did not change over night. it is still over supplied every where.
the rally was initially triggered by utilities buying and then followed by short squeezing.
Some utilities have room to switch between nat gas and coal. When gas was at 2.50, they found that it was more economic to burn nat gas.
so 2.50 is sort of the floor for the moment. but ng is also capped by over supply.
hard game to guess now but my guess is that it is going down to about 2.50 for oct contract.
for UNG it is still bearish. when nov starts, nov contract will go down to be close to 2.50 too. and then dec. until this over supply is finally over.
so ung would not dip down crazily as i expected but would move down slowly, with short squeeze once a while. |
