Fairholme case study: BAC, AIG, SHLD, MBI

Fairholme Fund has an interesting slogan: "ignore the crowd."
Their website has four case study they shared: http://www.fairholmefunds.com/presentations
Fairholme's style is just like their slogan, when they find value, they will ignore short term market movements, and holding their shares through market volatility. This style is often not enjoyable and might not suit everyone, nevertheless, their case studies are useful current examples of value investing.

I also have positions in BAC and MBIA.

Have no determination to buy BAC and AIG now, but will pay more attention to these stocks

investing is a very lonely business, to ignore the crowd is a must.
I believe you don't follow the advices in those websites to buy/sell stocks.

When I first started learning investing, I got excited by posts on forums and websites easily and made many costly mistakes...  :(
Now I try to seek wisdom and ideas online, but always do my homework before making an investment
Yes, sometimes investing is lonely, an investor tries to stay outside of the group and think independently.

Still holding my MBI and BAC...regret that I didn't add more MBI during the recent drop...AIG looks attractive but too many funds already holding it now...hmm
