The account balance is up (long stocks) but the ES short is under the water now.  (the stock gain > ES loss is about 3x)
Should I cut the loss on ES short position or wait for ES drop?

I took it as hedge for my long position. Will close it if I close my long position

It's a hedge of your gain, I wouldn't remove it.

ES is NOT option. no time-value (its beauty). Hence time is not critical here.

Still it's your call at final.
