ZT, not your real experience.
Let me tell you a real story in my tax return.
IRS refund me $10,000 when I filed a $1,000 hope credit. it's electrically refunded into my bank account without notice.
I found the problem first (when checked my bank). Then I called IRS the error. The lady over phone another end insisted that impossible. told me the report was generated by IRS computer. 1. shouldn't be wrong; 2. couldn't be corrected.
After talking to her a while. I realized she wouldn't take the money back. So I requested to speak to her manager.
He told me no problem. he would file an investigation and I didn't need to do any thing further.
But in weeks, I was sued, 1. steal IRS money; 2. saved the IRS money into my personal account to obtain interests. I was also requested to pay a high penalty for action#2.
My bank account, of course, got frozen up.
At this point, I realized I shouldn't trust they oral words.
I called back (not same person taking my call), asked to check the log of my calling IRS. That proved: 1. It's IRS's mistake. 2. I reported the error first. 3. It's not my will to save the money in to my bank account.
IRS electronically did it.
AT final, IRS agreed, no need to pay penalty, no sue either.
I couldn't remember if IRS said "sorry" to me. Since them, it’s my faith that high school students run IRS. |
