止损 vs 不止损 by---401.king

想着止损并且坚决执行了止损的，与想着不止损实际也从不止损的，没什么两样。
想着止损到关键时候又退缩了的，与想着不止损最后又割肉了的，也没什么两样.                                                   

或是根据具体情况判断要不要止损的，也 Makes no difference statistically.

割肉是所谓高手的玩法，不割肉是所谓低手的玩法。
低手不一定非要成为高手才能赚钱，因为与绝大多比赛不同的是，炒股并不是专为高手准备的盛宴。
甚至从某种程度上可以说是高手的坟墓。淹死会水的，打死会拳的，说的就是这。

另：看到股票在水下心态就不好，割了就心态好的说法，说的是伪心态。
又：割肉的对错，以个案来证明，是没有意义的。必须统计的看。

I think it is okay not to cut loss if and only if:

1) You only trade index ETF;
2) You're 100% hedged when the market is going down ...

If you know it's going down, why not take the loss and have the profit (your hedge) run? I think what the phamtem of pit said makes more sense:

Don't wait passively for your stop loss to be hit. If you think the market proved that you are wrong, then exit immediately.

Of course, you would trade the inverse index ETF after 100% hedged ...
I can see some point in not cutting loss ... there is tax consequences when cutting loss if you are not qualified as a trader in the US.
