If you understand octal system, you will find the number in above diagram confusing.

However, if you use 8 minus the above number, you will see that 1 - 8 in the diagram are actually 7 - 0 in octal system.

That is how Dr. Gottfried Leibniz got the initial stimulation of inventing modern binary system.

Now, every computer system is based on his modern binary system, which got the original idea from Iching.
