TCP/IP network transport is not installed

My laptop (Windows XP Pro) shows the above message and I can't connect internet. Tried a few options learned from web such as deleting Winsock and Winsock2 and inistall clean ones, but did not work out.

Help is desperately

needed.

go to network adaptor and install "tcp/ip" protocol service? disable or reinstall any antivirus software.
