Bearish VIX bets

1. VIX 15,000 Sep $65 calls, 23,000 Sep $47.5 calls
2. VXX 10,000 Sep $23 calls, 12,000 Sep $24 calls

These are serious bets. Are we in the eye of the storm? I don't like it, so I took profits today. If tomorrow's ADP turns out to be an ugly number, I will close all my long positions.

A question: is that possible some big guy is creating a VIX option spread with 47.5 and 65. In that case, it is hard to know if it is a bull spread or bear spread. Could you tell me your reason that it is most likely a bearish bet? Thanks a lot.
