NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Chinese digital map services provider AutoNavi are rising after the company priced high, raising $107.8 million.
It's a rare success in the recent IPO market. Since June, eight companies have delayed or withdrawn IPO plans, according to IPO research firm Renaissance Capital. Only 12 went public, often cutting expected prices on shares to get the deal done.
AutoNavi and its stockholders sold 8.6 million American despositary shares to initial investors for $12.50 apiece. Shares had been expected to price from $10.50 to $12.50.
The company has a digital map database and provides navigation services for Chinese drivers.
Trading under the symbol "AMAP" on the Nasdaq, shares of AutoNavi Holdings Ltd. are rising $1.66, or 13 percent, to $14.16 in afternoon trading. |
