There are rumors that AAPL is gonna blow out the estimates again. That is why it was strong recently.
Today RIMM is down 10% over concerns of continuous loss of market share going forward. Obviously
iPhone G4 is a big seller and should easily beat RIMM's lackluster follow-up phones. But then why AAPL is down?
I guess that RIMM will aggressively cut price to compete with the 2As (AAPL+ANDROID). Sure berries may lack
features, but when price is low enough, they will still sell - at a much lower margin. RIMM sure has a strong
balance sheet and can put up a good fight.
Therefore AAPL may either fight back by lowering prices, or focus less on market share and more on profitability.
The smart phone war is far from over. |
