Some normality returned to the U.S. economy after the financial earthquake. So the retail companies are trying to rebuild a bit inventory. However, the shuttered factories in China can not be reopened overnight - and the shortage of labor is just one of them. The reason of the shortage is due to the higher living cost in China - 農民工 are not paid enough so why toiling in the factory for over 10 hours a day?
To balance the trade, China has to have a higher living cost (compared to now) and US has to have a lower living cost (due to the poor economy) - so that some jobs outsourced or off-shored can come back to the U.S., including some manufacturing jobs. |
