heard from radio said market always has the negative point during the year for every year since 1998.
The S&P has been up 10% since beginning of the year 2012, so ... maybe 2012 is different.   

I just type what I heard. please don't shoot the messenger.

yes.
end of year may be up, but it is down of the year at some point.
